Crevasse Blue

Crevasse Blue

Looking down into an crevasse, where the melt water appeared as a stunning blue. Glaciers are intensely compact snow and ice formed over millenia, such red part of white light is absorbed by ice and the blue (short wavelengths) light is transmitted and scattered. The longer the path light travels in ice, the more blue it appears.
